ELECTION OF DELEGATES EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEMBERS [by telegraph—own correspondent] "WELLINGTON, Thursday Voting among members of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants recently concluded for the election of delegates to the society's biennial conference, and for the executive council, which will hold office for the next two years. The elections were conducted under the system of preferential voting. The chief returning officer was the society's general secretary. Mr. L. McHvridc, who announces that the successful candidates among the 38 who contested the positions* for conference delegates were as follows: Traffic Representatives: F. W. Munn (Auckland), J. Doig (Palmerston North), H. H. Hey (Christchurch), M. Connelly (Dunedin). Locomotive shops: L. Butterwortli (Otahuhu), J. Donald (Hutt), J. W. Toomey (Addington) aud S. W. Gaspar (Hillside). Maintenance; P. B. Gavan (Frankton Junction), L. R. Walker (Wanganui), R. W. Alexander (Omihi) and J. M. Ross (Palmerston South). Way and works: P. Clark (Poro-o-tarao) and E. C. Fraser (Dunedin). The successful candidates for the executive council were:—J. Doig, L. Butterworth, P. B. Gavan, M. Connelly, S. W. Gaspar, R. W. Alexander and E. C. Fraser. '
The society's conference opens in Wellington during the first week in February.
