RACES AT CHRIST CHURCH CLOSE FINISHES . WITNESSED [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] CHRISTCHTJRCH, Wednesday Close racing was seen at the Tepid Baths to-night when the Australian swimmer, Clark, met Jarvis, of Otago, in 50yds. and 100 yds. events and Low, the Canterbury champion, in a backstroke race over 100 yds. Clark won the 50yds. race by a touch from Jarvis in 25 4-ss, while the 100 yds. was narrowly won by Jarvis in 56 4-ss. In the backstroke race Low led until seven yards from the finish, Clark winning by a touch. His time was 665. Tickle won the invitation idive, outclassing the opposition.
