PRIZE-GIVING DANCE
SWIMMER WELCOMED HOME The annual prize-giving dance of the North Shore Swimming Club, held in the parish hall at Devonport on Saturday evening, was also the occasion of a welcome home to Mr. Noel Crump, one of >ew Zealand's swimming representatives, who recently returned from the Empire Games. There was a splendid attendance of members and representatives of other sports clubs. The trophies and cups won during the year were displayed on a table at one end of the hall and were presented to the winners bv the Mayor of Devonport, Mr. H. F. W. Meikle. .Mr, G. H. Little, patron of the club, also addressed those present. The ladies of the committee responsible for the success of the arrangements comprised:—Mrs. F. Langley, Mrs. Clench, Mrs. Brooks, Mrs. Hobbs-Jones and Mrs. F. H. Procter. Among those present were: —The Mayoress of Devonport, Mrs. H. F. W. Meikle, Mrs. Titchener, Mrs. A. Da vies, Mrs. Blair, senr., Mrs. A. W. Joughin, Mrs. Lane, Mrs. H. Plummer, Mrs. A. L. Griffith, Mrs. R. Spinley, Mrs. Bennett, Mrs. Webb, Miss Bo wen, Miss Finlay, Miss Margaret Vause, Miss .V. Gibbons, Miss J. Gray, Miss D. Broughton, Miss R. Broughton, Miss M. Lane. Miss Pat Long, Miss J. Cumming, Miss D. Spriggs, Miss J. Hill, Miss K. Nash, Miss M. Elworth, Miss M. Mclnnis, Miss A.
