LESSONS FROM NEW ZEALAND A former resident of Now Zealand, Mi*. E. 11. Hudson, now superintendent of the. Department of Agriculture in Tasmania, arrived at Auckland by the Monterey on Saturday'to make a tour of the Dominion. Mr. Hudson, who was a resident of Christchurcli and a student at Canterbury Agricultural College, Lincoln, described his trip as a "refresher course in agriculture." Ht» said therb had been many recent developments in New Zealand farming which would prove of interest to Tasmania. Mr. Hudson is in charge of all departments of Agricultural work in Tasmania, with the exception of orchards and fruit growing. At present he is devoting considerable attention to grass selection and pasture development and intends to inspect the work being done at the Plant Research Station at Palmerston North. He will also visit the Massey and Canterbury Agricultural Colleges and altogether will spend about five weeks in the Dominion, leaving from the South on his return to Tasmania.
