COMMONS ROMANCE
An engagement of Parliamentary interest in England is that which has been announced of Mr. Aneurin Bevan, M.P., to Miss Jennie Lee, ex-M.P., both of whom kre prominent figures in the Socialist Party. It is a true romance of the House of Commons, for it was in the corridors of that place that they first met in 1929. Both had won their- first Parliamentary victory, Mr. Bevan, the Welshman, as member of Ebbw Vale, and Miss Lee, the Scots girl, as member for North Lanark. "Miss Lee is studying for the Bar. I suppose she will study during our honeymoon, because she takes the examination in December," stated Sir. Bevan to a newspaper representative. "The fact that I belong to the Labour Party and Miss Lee is a member of the Independent Labour Party should not interfere with our married life. "After marriage we shall follow our own political paths as usual." They are similar in' temperament and experience, both miners' children and both fiery and passionate speakers.
