CHORAL RECITAL
A choral and organ recital was given ©n Thursday evening in St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Devon port, every seat being occupied. The choirs of the Presbyterian and Methodist Churches at Takapuna collaborated with St. Paul's, forming a combined choir of over 70 voices, under the conductorship of Mr. F. E. Sutherland, with Mr. Murray Pastier at the organ. The choir gave items, including:—"Hear My Prayer". (Mendelssohn), the solo part in the latter being taken by Mrs. Colin Fairgray. Mr. Fastier's organ solos included the famous "St. Anne's Fugue" (Bach), a brilliant offertoire by Lefebvre-Wely, and a bracket of three modern compositions, notably, a Pricre by Jose de Franezquin and a scherzo bv Harvey Grace. Miss Winifred Hill L.A.8,, rendered "Vivanelle," by Eva Dell Acqna, and "Hark, Hark, the Lark" (Schubert).
