THREATENING BEHAVIOUR
YOUNG MAN WITH GUN "ACT OF STUPIDITY" [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] DUNEDIN. Friday An allegation that he said "You would look well with a bullet through the head," to a girl who had rejected his attentions, was made against Ralph Martin, aged 27, who was charged in the Police Court to-day with behaving in a threatening manner and with procuring a firearm without a permit. The police stated that accused was a married man living apart from his wife. He pretended to be single and kept company with a young woman. When she rejected his attentions he produced a revolver, making the threat with which he was charged. The magistrate, in convicting defendant and ordering the payment of expenses and the confiscation of the revolver, characterised Martin's act as one of stupidity rather than anything else.
