TELEPHONE CABLE
BIG BRITISH UNDERTAKING (Received September 19, 7.15 p..m.) British Wireless RUGBY, Sept. 18 The work on the additional underground telephone cable between London, Liverpool and Glasgow, which was begun in June, is proceeding rapidly. On the northern section of the route more than 1000 men are continuously employed in laying the cabls, which includes four pairs of. screened wires for special transmissions, particularly music, which demands a wide range of frequencies.
