EX-SHAH'S FORTUNE
BEQUESTS TO TEN WIVES Interesting details of the private fortune of Ahmed Kadjar, ex-Shah of Persia, are revealed in his will, which has been filed in the New York courts by the Guaranty Trust Company, as executor. The deposed Shah died in Paris in 1930. His fortune, once estimated at many millions, has shrunk to half a million,' partly, no doubt, owing to the, decline in security values in the past few years. Of the total estate, testator's mother, Queen Malekek Djahan, receives: Landed property in Persia estimated to be worth £20,000; one half of the crown jewels; the sum of £15,000; and a sixth part of the securities to the value of £60,000.
The Shah's three daughters and son, now attending school in Paris, receive the residue of the estate—each getting a share amounting to £40,000. A brother residing in London, Prince Mohammed Hassan Kadjar, receives a legacy of £1250 a year. The Shah had ten wives. Three receive annuities of £2OO, five receive £2OO outright, and two an unmentioned sum.
