EVEN FIRST SPELL
FORWARDS' RECOVERY ' • After a fast and even first spell the Bcore at the interval being s—all, the Richmond forwards made a fine recovery in the second half and paved the way for an easy win. Tho Devonport forwards were superior in tho first half, but after , the interval the Richmond vanguard played together much better. Devonport was unfortunate to lose the services of Simpson at half-time, as ho was leading ihe pack in fine style. Richmond was always the more dangerous in possession and there was better combination and more thrust in its back movements. However, tho margin in favour of the winners was flattering on tho run of tho piny. Cooke, Prentice, Fletcher and Powell all played well in tho Richmond rearguard, while Lawless and Satherlcy were the outstanding forwards. Rhodes, Seagar and Laing were the pick of the Devonport backs and Donald, Steven and Scott stood out in the forwards. For Richmond, Fletcher (2), Prentice, C. Satherley (2) and Milicicli scored tries. Satherley converting four. Laing kicked a penalty goal for Devonport and Newton scored a try. Mr. M. Wcthcrill was referee.
