COUNTRY STOCK SALES

FRANKTON QUOTATIONS FAT EWES IN DEMAND LITTLE CHANGE FOR BEEF i [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON. Tuesday There was an extra heavy yarding of fat wethers at the Frankton saleyards to-day, the demand for prime quality being equal to last sale. On inferior lines the demand was easier. Fat ewes came forward in smaller numbers, and sold under keen competition at advanced rates. Tho yarding of fat hoggets was a good one, and prices were firmer than those of the last sale. The yarding of ox beef was a smaller one, there being few well finished cattle. In this section all classes remained unchanged. A full yarding of cow and heifer beef came forward, the majority being good quality, with heavy cattle showing an easing tendency. Lighter lines showed no change in value. An increased number of fat pigs were penned, with a better proportion of good quality. Buttermilk buyers were in attendance, and pigs suitable for their purpose showed a marked improvement in values. A smaller yarding of stores and weaners sold at prices in advance of last week's quotations. The auctioneers report as follows:
