PAPATOETOE AFFAIRS
PROMPT PAYMENTS OF RATES Exceptionally prompt payments of rates were reported at a meeting of the Papatoetoe Town Board last evening. The chairman, Mr. W. J. Nicholson, said that rate notices were delivered by the first mail on August 1 and by 9.15 a.m. that day two ratepayers had called at the board's office and made payments of rates. They were followed by several others within the first hour of business. It was stated that in the 12 days open for the receipt of rates the sum of £9BO had been collected.
