REPAIRING DETOUR ROADS The Papakura Road Board decided to accept the Main Highways Board offer of metal to the value of £36 for the repair of the roads within the Papakura area used as a detour route during the recent concreting of Great South Road. A deputation was received from the Papakura Relief Workers' Association again protesting against the rate of pay received by workers under No. 5 scheme in tho Papakura district. The board decided to call a public meeting of all interested for tho purpose of making a strong protest. The use of Prince Edward Park was granted for the finish of the Auckland amateur 100-mile road race, to be held on October 6.
