AUSTRALIAN WOOL
COMING SEASON'S SALES QUANTITY OF OFFERINGS (Received August 11. 12.35 .a.m.) MELBOURNE, August 10 A conference of representatives of the Woolgrowers' Council i and the Woolselling Brokers of Australia to-dav gave consideration to the quantity of wool to be offered in the 1934-35 season. It was decided that the original allocation of 1,600,000 bales to be offered before Christmas should be curtailed to 1,350,000 and that the position be reviewed again at the end of September. If necessary a further reduction will be made then in accordance with the conditions of the market ruling at that time.
It was also decided that the first sale be held in Brisbane on August 20 as already arranged.
ITALY'S EMBARGO PLAN EARLY ACTION UNLIKELY LONDON, August 9 Italy's wool embargo against Australia, as a means of reducing the adverse trade balance, which it was intended to apply as from August 1, has not been imposed. It is learned that immediate action is not likely, but Italy's ultimate intentions cannot be ascertained.
Germany also has not intimated her intentions.
