N WRESTLING CONTESTS PLAY IN BOWLING MATCHES LONDON, August 9 In the heavy-weight wrestling contests at the Empire Gaines, Knight (Australia) defeated A. Dudgeon (Scotland) with one fall. Dudgeon (20 stone) smiled genially when the crowd dubbed him the "Loch Ness monster." Knight, who had beaten P. Meehan (Canada) on points, gained the heavyweight championship by a substantial margin. In the lightweight wrestling final Garrard (Australia) . defeated Thomas (Canada) on points. Other title-winners in the wrestling are;— Bantam-weight, E. Melrose (Scotland); feather-weight, 11. Macna (Canada); welter-weight, J. Scheilmer (Canada); middle-weight, T. Evans (Canada); light-heavy-weight, W. Cubbin (South Africa). In the singles of the bowling tournament Sprot (Scotland) defeated Keys (New Zealand), 21—13. Sprot thereby won the championship. He was unbeaten throughout the Games. In the pairs the Englishmen, Hills and Wright, retained their title. They were unbeaten this year and in 19iJ0. In the rinks Scotland defeated New Zealand, 29—Kl. England and Ireland are the present leaders, anil they will play the final to-morrow.
