BRITAIN AND GERMANY
EXCHANGE AGREEMENT ANNOUNCEMENT PREDICTED (Received August 10, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, August 9 The Daily Telegraph, says it understands that an exchange agreement has been reached between the British and German Treasury and Board of Trade negotiators in Berlin which will permit of the resumption' of British exports into Germany. An official announcement of the terms is expected in a day or two.
The President of the Board of Trade, Mr. Walter Runciman, is in conference with officials of his department regarding the difficulties in connection with the liquidation of a considerable amount of commercial debts which are now due from Germany for goods actually delivered and for which it is understood the German debtors cannot remit because of the» restrictions on foreign exchange imposed by the German Government.
