PEDESTRIAN'S DEATH
VERDICT AT INQUEST An inquest into the death of Mr. George, Nicholas JeflV-ry, «ged 04. of 20 Hill Street. Newmarket, who was yet ruck by a motor-truck in Khvber Pass Road on June 18. and died at
the Auckland Hospital on June 20. was completed by Mr. F K Hunt. S.M.. coroner, yesterday. Arthur Gordon DanieJs. driver ol vehicle, said he was travelling low?) Khyber Pass Road toward the oitv at about»ls miles an hour on Ijjs correct side, at 5.30 p.m., when the accident occurred. It was raining heavily at the time and deceased was walking with his head down. Witness did not see deceased until he was about a foot in front of the truck. Witness had no chance of avoiding him, as the visibility/Avas poor owing to the heavy rain and the fact that the area was badly lighted, f The coroner returned a verdict of accidental death.
