PLUMBERS' DISPUTE
WAGES RATE PROPOSALS NO AGREEMENT REACHED The dispute concerning wagei and working conditions in the plumbing trade'in the Auckland district was further considered in conciliation council proceedings yesterday, but no agreement was reached. The conciliation commissioner, Mr. P. Hally, presided. Messrs. J. J. Rogers, H. G. Pinel, A. Gordon and W. E. Anderson appeared for the employers, while Messrs. C. E. JDavies, D. P. Randell, A. C. S. MacMillan and J. Clark represented tho union. The union demanded an hourly wage of 2s 3d, and working conditions similar \o those in the old award. The employers applied for tho fixation of wages" at Is lid an hour for registered plumbers and Is lOd for those who were not registered. A resolution moved by the union's representatives that tho dispute be referred to the Arbitration Court .was defeated. The proceedings then terminated.
