Following are the results: — Women's singles—Quarter finals: Miss J. Hartigan (Australia) defeated Miss Scriven (England), 3—6, C —3, 6—l; M iss Mathieu (France) defeated Miss Palfrey (United States), 6—3, 6—B, 6 —2; Miss 1). Round (England) defeated Miss Payot (France), 6—4, 6 —2; Miss Jacobs (United States) defeated Miss Aussem (Germany), 6 —o. 6—2.

THROAT AFFECTION EPIDEMIC IN LONDON TENNIS PLAYERS' ILLNESS LONDON, July 3 A famous London specialist states that the mysterious throat epidemic experienced by the tennis players in the championship tournament has spread far beyond Wimbledon, as patients are being notified from all parts of the metropolis.
