LORRY OVERTURNS
PROCEEDING DOWN A HILL DRIVER ESCAPES INJURY [by telegraph—own cobbespondent] TAUPO, Wednesday A motor-lorry, owned by the Roto-rua-Taupo Freight Company, and driven by Mr. T. Lodge, capsized in a cutting about two mile 3 on the Rotorua side of Wairakei about 10.30 this morning. The vehicle skidded while proceeding downhill in the vicinity of the turn-off to the Aratiatia Rapids. It struck the bank and turned over. The driver escaped injury, but the body-work of the lorry was damaged and part of the load was scattered over the road. The vehicle was later righted and proceeded to Wairakei.
