HUNTING ACCIDENT
RIDER'S FALL FROM HORSE FARMER'S SEVERE INJURIES A farmer, Mr. W. Fisher, aged 50, married, of Maramarua, received severe internal injuries on Saturday afternoon as the result of a hunting accident. Mr. Fisher, in company with other members of the * Maramarua If Hunt, was taking the hounds for a trial run, in preparation for the opening of the hunting season. He was riding a recently purchased horse, which, in attempting to take a fence, struck his forefeet on the wooden bar along the top. Mr. Fisher had previously had a fall that afternoon, rendering one leg of little use for riding, so that he lost his balance and fell. He was later conveyed to the (Auckland Hospital in a St. John ambulance. His condition was described, last evening as fairly serious.
