FIVE MEN FINED SUBSTANTIAL PENALTIES [by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION;] PALMERJ3TON NORTH. Tuesday On a charge of frequenting the street for the purpose of betting, Charles Joseph Williams, who appeared in the Police Court yesterday, was fined £IOO. James Leonard Purves, for using premises as a "common gaming house, was fined £IOO. Edward Nelson Baigent and Alfred Dewar, for frequenting the street for the purpose of betting, were each fined £SO. Charles George Wilson was fined £2O for laying totalisator odds.
