USE OF STALE BREAD
As a cleaning agent, stale bread is extremely useful. Soiled serge or flannel garments can be revived by rubbing with stale breadcrumbs. When frying potatoes or fish put some small squares of stale bread into the fat first. This not only prevents the fat from spluttering, but, when it turns brown, indicates that the fat is of the right temperature for frying.
