WALES BEATS SCOTLAND ENGLAND DEFEATS IRELAND LONDON. Oct. 4 An Association football international championship match in glorious weather drew an attendance of 45,000 spectators. Wales defeated Scotland by 3 goals to 2 at Cardiff. . In a Soccer inter-League match in fine weather, 15,000 spectators Baw an English League team defeat an Irish League side by 4 goals to 0 at Preston. In Northern Union matches. London Hiehfield defeated Halifax, 18—9: Salford defeated Wakefield. 21—8: and Wigan "defeated Swinton. 12—2.
