CRICKET
RODNEY ASSOCIATION The balance-sheet presented at the annual meeting of the Rodney Cricket Association disclosed a credit balance. Officers were elected as follows: —Patron, Mr. M. P. Came; president, Mr. E. Vipond; vice-presidents, Messrs. W. Becroft. J. Algie, R. Pulham, J. C. Wyatt, A. Rayner, D, W. Knaggs, E. Mclntyre and L. W. Meiklejohn; secretary, Mr. W. J. Dunning; selector, Mr. E. A. Vipond.; auditor, Mr. A. J. K. Campbell. Five teams have entered for the association's competition and it was decided to play three rounds, commencing on Octpber 23. In an endeavour to make the game more interesting a new ruling was introduced, that one run be added to the fielding aide for every "maiden -over bowled.
