WHAKATANE CLUB'S'OPENING [BY TEtECRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] WHAKATANE, Thursday The Whakatane Croauet Club held its official openiiig of tho season yesterday, there being a good attendance of members and visitors. The weather was ideal and tho lawns were in excellent order. After the president, Mrs. J. Hellyar, had declared the lawns open a progressive tournament was held. TE AROHA CLUB [from our own correspondent] TE AROHA, Thursday Perfect weather prevailed for the opening of the Te Aroha Croauet Club's new season yesterday afternoon. Over 100 members and visitors were present. The Mayor, Mr. R. Coulter, who declared the season open, wished the club all success, and complimented the Domain staff on tho splendid condition of the greens. The president, Mr 3.' W. Monson, then drove the first ball. , Progressive and Golf croquet tournaments were played.
