THE ASSOCIATION GAME
SENIOR GRADE CONTESTS
THISTLE AND COMRADES
PONSONBY TO PLAY ABELS
A further series of matches in the second round of the Auckland Football Association's senior grade championship will bo decided to-morrow. The principal match at Blandford Park will be between Comrades and Thistle, when a clever and interesting struggle should be witnessed. Thistle will be eager to maintain its good position on the championship table, as, in the event of Ponsonby being defeated, the Thistle side will havo a fair chance of clinching the premiership. On the other hand. Comrades can be depended upon for a scientific exhibition and it is possible that it may succeed in upsotting Thistle's ambitions. In the curtain-raiser between Ponsonby and Abels another good struggle should result. Abels is a fairly strong combination and may prove capable of taking the points from the Dominion premiers. Two matches will be pkyed again nt Onehunga. North Shore United will contest the points with Y.M.C.A., while the second contest will be between Onehunga and Glen Innes.
