TIMBER WORKS FIRE
SLIGHT DAMAGE CAUSED j OUTBREAK IN NEWMARKET -—" An outbreak of fire occurred in the boiler room at the timber and joinery works of Mr. C. H. Frankham, Mahuru Street, Newmarketj. shortly before seven o'clock last evening. Smoke was observed issuing from the building, which is a corrugated iron structure, by a constable and a passerby, both of whom gave alarms from street boxes, one call being received at the Remuera station and the other at Parnell station. Engines were sent from the City, Parnell, Remuera and Mount Eden stations. \ The flames, which were apparently by the ignition of sawdust nejr the boiler, were quickly suppressed, little damage being done. The works are insured with the Royal Exchange office for about £5000.'
