CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS RICHMOND MEETS DEVONPORT The main attraction at Carlaw Park on Saturday next between Richmond and Devonport to decide the champion of champions was discussed at last evening's meeting of the Auckland Rugby League. The chairman, Mr. G. Grey Campbell, said the winners of this game would meet the St. George team from Sydney on the following Saturday. It was decided to record appreciation of the services rendered by Mr. J. Rukutin in coaching the Auckland team this season. Each representative player is also to be thanked for his services.

The Ponsonby reserve grade team wrote objecting to the late starting of its game against Richmond. After hearing the statements of the referee and a representative of the Poiu'onby Club, jt was decided to defer the matter until next meeting. VISIT FROM SYDNEY TEAM The New South Wales Rugby League committee last week appointed Mr. J. Mostyn manager of the St. George's Club team which is to visit Auckland shortly. The team will be accompanied by Messrs. J. F. McGrath, patron, and M Shanny, vice-presi-dent. ri There will be 17 players in the party, to be chosen by the club selectors. If the selectors desire to include one or more players from other clubs, they have been given the power to do so. The team will sail by the Monterey on September 20 and return by the Wanganella about October 13. Five, or possibly six, matches will be played in New Zealand.
