VISIT TO ARCTIC CIRCLE WILD AND UNCHARTED WASTES [FROM oun OWN CORTIESrONDENT] LONDON, Ausc. 8 Thirty boys, members of the Public Schools' Exploring Society, have started on a journey to the Arctic Circle. Tho youngest of the party is 16, aud the average ago, is 18. The party carlies an array of scientific instruments, cinematograph cameras and fishing rods. 'A large party of parents and friends went to the station to seo tho party leave. Admiral Sir Lionel Halsev wished tho boys "jolly good luck and a great time." Surgeon-Comman-der G. Murray Levick, R.N., a member of Captain Scott's last Antarctic expedition, is in charge of tho party. Mrs. Murray Levick and a friend will assist in looking after tho boys at the base camp. From Helsingfors, 600 miles north will be traversed by rail. Thon will come nearly 200 miles by car, until the base camp is mftde at a small farm within the Arctic Circle, 200 miles from the nearest settlement, Oulu. The expedition will split up into three parties and will penetrate into tho wild and uncharted northern wastes. Scientific and geological surveys will be made, and it is hoped to obtain a complete cinematograph record of the journeys, to bo used for lecture purposes in schools.
