VINDICATION OF STAFF
VICTORIA COLLEGE INQUIRY COUNCIL'S FULL CONFIDENCE [by TELEGRAPH —rRESS association] "WELLINGTON, Thursday Tho report of tho special committee set up by Victoria University College Council to inquire into certain charges and insinuations in ado against tho teaching staff of tho college was presented at a meeting of tho College Council this evening. In the report, which was adopted by the council, the committee stated that it was satisfied that there had been no evidence adduced in any way reflecting upon tho teaching staff of tho college, and considered that the staff deserved the entire confidence of tho council and that any suggestions to tho contrary were unfounded. The inquiry aroso out of a controversy in tho Wellington press in which certain institutions and persons made statements concerning tho conduct of the staff and students of tho university.
