TEST FOR MOTORISTS

RESULTS OF RALLY DRIVERS WITH SMALL CARS The rally for motorists held last Sunday Tinder the auspices of the New Zealand Motor-Racing Drivers' Association was Avon by Mr. J. F. Baragwanath, driving a Riley Nine, entered by Dexter Motors. The winner scored 298 points out of a possible of 300. Mr. R. Seabrook was second "in an Austin Seven, entered by Seabrook, Fowlds, Limited, gaining 292 points, while two other Austin cars, entered by the same firm, and driven by Messrs. E. W. Chapman and W. F. FowJds respectively, were third and fourth. The team prize was won by Messrs. R. Seabrook, A. Roper and H. S. Marks, with Austin Sevens, while a team of Singers, two Juniors and a Nine, entered by Campbell Motors, Limited, and driven by Messrs. W. H. Hillson, A. Dennison and L. G. Bedford, was second. There were 28 starters, and drivers were required to cover about 142 miles at predetermined average speeds, being checked for accuracy at, eight stages of the trip. A feature of the results is the extremely keen competition between drivers of small British cars. The first eight cars finished within a margin of 20 points.
