Aug. 4 Armed police from two districts had to be summoned to quell fierce rioting between Moslems and Sikhs in a village near Jarnawala, Punjab. Five rioters were killed and several were seriously injured. The dispute arose over the ownership of ,a small plot of land. Each community attempted to take possession of it by force. Knives were used in the fighting that ensued. TROUBLE WITH GANDHI RELEASE AND REARREST AN ORDER IGNORED (Received Angus 5. 1.5 a.m.) CALCUTTA. Aug. 4 Gandhi was released this morning and ordered not to leave tho confines of Poona City. However, ho immediately broke the order and was rearrested.
FRONTIER TROUBLE CESSATION OF BOMBING NO SIGN OF TRIBESMEN CALCUTTA. Aug. 3 No bombing was done on the NorthWest Frontier yesterday or to-day owing to heavy clouds. As far as is known no casualties followed the bombing of the village of Kotkai, and there was no sign of hostile tribesmen.
