MILLIONS FOR CANADA
LATEST LOAN IN LONDON HEAVY OVER-SUBSCRIPTION (Received August 3. 6.15 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 3 The City editor of the Daily Express states in connection with the Canadian loan of £15,000,000 British investors offered £60,000,000. A British official wireless message issued yesterday stated: The London Etock markets opened quietly to-day with British funds firmer following upon the success of the Canadian loan. The loan met with immediate success. It'is assumed that the total of £15,000,000 was subscribed several times over, and the city anticipates that dealings in the scrip will open at a premium. The Canadian Prime Minister, Mr B. li. Bennett, who is spending a holiday at Harrowgate, said the immediate success of the loan afforded further striking evidence of the solidarity of tho Empire. The people of Canada would highly appreciate tho confidence shown in their country and its future by British investors.
