TAIT DEFEATS LOVELOCK Tlu- open billiards championship was continued last evening in (lie Vulcan Lune billiards parlours, when K. Tnit defeated I'. Lovelock. The game was very even to the '2OO mark, when Tnit took the lead with a well-played break of 73, and followed soon after with u 49. Lovelock displayed some of his best form in playing from difficult positions. but his opponent kept using the red ball with confidence and maintained his lend to the finish. The final scores were:—Tail. 500: Lovelock. 127. . The tournament will be continued this evening when C. Cummins will meet J. Black. ,
