ROYAL OAK TENNIS CLUB
ANNUAL BALL AT DIXIELAND The annual ball of the Royal Oak Lawn Tennis Club, held at the Dixieland Cabaret last evening, proved a most enjoyable function. There was a large attendance of club members and also representatives and visitors from sister clubs. A demonstration of the tango and quick-step was given by Miss Molly Ballantyne and Mr. M. Bradley and was much appreciated. Supper was served in the large entrance, where the tables were decorated with bowls of Iceland poppies and streamers in the club colours. Among those present were: —Mrs. C. D. Warren, who wore a frock of cameo pink georgette with frilled insets; Mrs. J. T. Harrison, in black georgette with a bottle-green velvet coatee; Sirs. Percy Harrison, r white crinkle crepe with •cherry velvet relief; Mrs. V M. Robb, flesh-pink georgette with frilled capo; Mrs. G. H. Townsend, lacquer red satin; Mrs. R. T. Postles, cherry-red georgette; Mrs. A. C. Verran, white, crushed velvet; Mrs. M. Bradley, ivory satin beaute; Mrs. D. G. McFarlane, white georgette with black shoulder cape; Mrs. Cecil Taylor, emerald green georget/e; Miss Marion Macfarlane, figured taffeta; Miss Tiena Jones, floral georgette; Miss Phyllis Peet, delphinium blue net; Miss Trixie Lamb, cameo pink lace; Miss Rona Hodges, oiel blue crinkle crepe; Miss Laura Stanaway, white flat crepe; Miss Patterson, pink frilled taffeta; Miss J. Connett, turquoise crepe suede; Miss Molly Ballantyne, violet lace and velvet .edged with fur; Miss M. McPherson, white georgette with black sash; Miss Nell Woodger, blue frilled organdie with pink satin waist ties; Miss Agrifs Gordon, pink and blue frilled organdie; Miss N. Petit, apple green georgette; Miss J. Bernstone, emerald green ribbed velvet; Miss Alice Hurt, black satin; Miss Barbara Potter, Nile green lace; Miss June Reid, black lace; Miss H. Matthews, black georgette; Miss Young, black ring velvet; Miss J. Cur-' now, blue satin crepe.
