WOMAN KILLED BY TRAIN
FALL BETWEEN CARRIAGES ACCIDENT AT STATION fitv Tioi.iXJßArrr —phkss association] "SVELLIXO TON, Sa 1 urd ny A fatal accident occurred at Ngahauranga. station, four miles from Wellington, last evening, the victim being Mrs. Caroline ll.yan, aged f>!>, a residenfc of Ngahauranga, who fell under the wheels of a train bound for Petone. Mrs. liyan was in the act of boarding the train when she fell between two of the carriages, and the train, which was moving slowly, passed over her body. The guard and stationmaster both saw a dark object fall to the rails, and immediately gave the signal for the train to stop. Mrs. I'yan was quickly extricated from beneath the carriage, byt death occurred live or six minutes later. She leaves a. husband, two sons and two daughters.
