LATEST LONDON SALES SUSTAINED COMPETITION LONDON, May 29 At the London wool sales to-day 6800 bales were offered, including 3235 from New Zealand, and about 5830 were sold. Competition was well sustained, with a firm tone. There were some withdrawals of greasy Merinos owing to high limits. New Zealand clips sold as follows: Greasy halfbred, "Benmore," top price, 3 average, lOjd; greasy crossbred, "Whangara," 9d and ojjd. Both classes eold readily at prices in advance of last week's rates. There was a keen demand for fat lambs. Prices for fat bullocks Bhowed an improvement, The yarding was smaller than usual. Better prices were realised for fat cows and heifers, which were in short supply. Baconers improved on late quotations, and stores sold well at advanced prices. The yarding was small.
