WAIMAUKU NEWS
A very enjoyable concert and dance was held in the Wainiauku Hall in aid of the Waikoukou Cricket Club. A troupe of Auckland artists entertained tho gathering. It was headed by Miss Daphne Kindly (ventriloquist) and sup--s)orted by the following:—Miss Gwen 'ollock (soprano), Messrs. Jack Hogan and Jack Meldrum (tenors), Sheldon and Kindly (character songs), Jack McKay (Scotch comedian), T. Buller (accordion). Charles ffewman (violin), Jack De Rose (light comedian), Lou Buketon (comedian), and Will Purcell Mr. Purcell was in charge of tho music. Supper was served by the ladies of the committee, comprising Mesdamcs F. Maclennan, L. Kerr-Taylor, A. KerrTaylor and R. M. Matheson. Mrs. W. N. Coughlan, of Longlands, Waimauku, was hostess at a card evening held at her residence on Thursday evening in aid of the Waikoukou Valley Tennis Club's court improvement fund. Tho prizes were won by Mrs. Dakers and Mr. Grace in "500," and Mr. 13. Owen in bridge. Among the players were Mesdaimes Coughlan, J. Dakers, C. J. Watts, M. J. Babbington, T. Kerr-Tav-lor, L. Kerr-Taylor, T. Henriksen, W. Riadell, Misses Coughlan (2), M. Watts, L. Owen.
