FALL FROM LORRY
MAN'S SKULL FRACTURED CONDITION REPORTED SERIOUS [by telegraph—own correspondent] WHANGAREI, Wednesday A married man, Mr. Richard Henry Maddren, aged 52 years, of Russel Road, Whangarei, a surfaceman employed by the Whangarei County Council, fell off one of the council's motor-r lorries on to the Marua Road, near Hikurangi, to-day. "He was conveyed to the Whangarei District Hospital, where it was found that he was suffering from a fracture of the base of his skull. His condition is serious.
