UNIVERSITY TOURNAMENT

JUBILEE BALL HELD PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES Merriment waxed high in tho Peter Pan Cabaret last evening, when that long-looked-for event, tho jubilee tournament ball, was held. It proved a grand finale to tho annual New Zealand university tournament, which has been hold during tho past few days, and the spirit of jollity, which characterises most university social functions was present in full force last evening. Punctually at half-past eight the Peter Pan Band played "Gaudeamus," the college song, and followed this with an overture before dancing commenced. Later in the evening tho Mayor, Mr. G. W. Hutchison, presented the trophies won by the various competitors during the tournament. Among those present were:—Lady Fowlds, who wore a frock of black ring velvet and lace; Mrs. C. W.
