WOMEN'S DIVISION
FARMERS' UNION Tho newly-formed Ngarua branch of tho Women's Division of the Farmers' Union held its second meeting recently. Mrs. Donovan presided over 31 members. The president read a paper dealing with the aims of the Women's Division, especially with the housekeeping council and tho proposed journal. Members agreed to start a relief clothing box and a number of infants' garments have boon promised. It is proposed to start an exchange stall for members at the next meeting. An amusing competition entitled " In a Garden " was held, the prize being a bouquet of flowers and a dahlia tuber donated by Mrs. James. Two of the Women's Division housekeepers are now working in homes in the Ngarua district. At the May meeting of the branch there will be a competition for the most economical and best cake, to be judged by Mrs. Luxton. Tho hostesses for the day were Mesdames Hayward, James and Wild.
