Forty lots were submitted and only 13 were sold. The trotting mare Red Eagle was purchased by Mr. R. Millen, of Auckland, for 42} the top price of the sale. The same" buyer secured the brood mare Mabel for 7 guineas. , Mr. F. J. Smith, of Taknnini. bought a good looking yearling by Worthy Bingen— Shirley Audubon for 75 guineas, and Mr. K. F. Beiljamin. Hamiltojt. paid 17 guineas for a filly by Worthy Bingen—Free Girl. Mr. W. Pope, of Blenheim, owner of Belle o' Mine, secured her full-sister, Winshow. for 7J guineas. The trotting mare Miss Braeside. formerly trained by Smith at Auckland, waß sold for 10 guineas. ROTORUA TROTTING CLUB The piogratnme for the first annual meeting of the Rotorua Trotting Club, to bo held on May 20 at, the Arawa Park racecourse. has been announced. The programme provide? for six events. Nominations for all events, accompanied by feeß, will close with the secretary. Box 105.
