NEW ZEALAND AWARDS TWO OFFICERS HONOURED LONDON, April 16 The Chief Scout, Lord Baden Powell, has awarded the Order of the Silver Wolf, the highest in the scouting movement, to Major-General Sir Alfred Robin, Chief Scout Commissioner for New Zealand, and the silver medal to Major W. E. S. Furby, general secretary to the New Zealand Boy Scouts' Association. Major-General Sir Alfred Robin, who was born in Dunedin, and educated at the Otago Boys' High School, served in the Great War with the New Zealand Expeditionary Forces, 1914-19, when he retired from the Army., He was Chief of the General Staff in New Zealand, from 1907-12, and was in the Imperial General Staff, War Office, 1912-14. Sir Alfred was appointed Commissioner of the Scout Association of Wellington about 12 years ago. He retired from the post three years ago, and has since been deputy-commissioner. Major Furby, who saw service with the New Zealand Forces in the Great War, has for several years been executive of the scouting movement at the Christchurch headquarters.
