YOUNG MAN MISSING
FISHING FROM A BOAT CRAFT DISCOVERED EMPTY [by TELEGRAPH OWN correspondent] W'AIUKU, Sunday Fears are entertained for the safetv of Leslie Draper, aged 19, of Auckland, who went fishing to-day from Awhitu, on the Manultau Harbour. The missing youth put out alone in a rowing-boat, leaving word with his mother, Mrs. C. Draper, of Awhitu, whom he was visiting for Easter, that he would return about 4 p.m. He did not return and shortly before dark the crew of a passing launch noticed the boat empty and drifting about threequarters of a mile off shore. They made for Awhitu and reported the matter. At a late hour there was still no news of the missing man.
