YACHTING MISHAPS
TWO BOATS CAPSIZE MISADVENTURES IN RACE [by telegraph—owx correspondent] COROMANDEL. Saturday The 18ft. yacht Mystic, which was competing in the race from Auckland to Coromandel, capsized early yesterday morning near the Cow and Calf Islands off the entrance to Coromandel, and her crew, including Mr. M. Corner, the well-known Rugby player, had to swim to Cow Island. The mishap occurred about three o'clock and it was not until some hours later that the plight of the crew, Messrs. W. Macindoe (skipper), S. Macindoe, M. Corner and J. Martin, was noticed. They were then picked up by a passing yacht. The Mystic was found drifting near Rangipukea Island, and was towed into Te Kouma. Another yacht, the Drone, owned by Mr. L. Mills, of Epsom, also capsized at about the same time as the Mystic. Her crew, Messrs. Mills (skipper), J. Curtis, H. McDermott, J. Brown and L. Godfrey, were quickly picked x:p by the Paroro, another yacht of the same class. The Drono was later towed to Coromandel Wharf.
