RINK CONTEST DECIDED
[ifKOJI OUlt OWN correspondent] HAMILTON, Monday The final of the Howden Shield competition and the South Auckland Howling Centre's link championship was decided at the Hamilton East green to-day. when To Awamutu (T. W. Gee, G. F. Smith, W. J. North and J. W. Hawkins), beat Glen Massey (A. Connew, W. Giraud, D. MeFarlane and il. Morris), by 22 points to 1-1. PLAY AT FRANKTON [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Monday A full-rink tourney was held by the Frankton Bowling Club to-day, there being ll> entries. Baker (.Frankton.) beat Noonan ('l'e Awamutu) in Iho section A final and in the section B finals Macfarlane (Ngaruawnliia) beat Lucas (Frankton) and do Sargy (Pularuru) beat Macfarlane. In the final Baker beat de Sargy by 12 points to 10. WHITIORA CLUB [FROM OUlt OWN' correspondent] HAMILTON. Monday Fifteen teams competed in the full-rink tourney held to-day by the Whitiora Bowling Club. Fiddes (Frankton Jiailway) was | the winner with 5 wins. PLAY AT CAMBRIDGE [I)Y TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] CAMBRIDGE, Monday Tho Cambridge Bowling Club's anniversary week-ond rinks tournament was concluded to-day, the winners being Garrard. Ward, Lundy and Easter, with 4 .wins and 1 loss. The other summarised results were: —Edwin, James, Boulton, W. Wilkinson, 3 wins, 2 losses; N. Hill, Baylies, Edgar. James, 2 wins, 3 losses; Wooldridge, 1 win, 4 losses. A Smith-Clark Shield game played at Cambridge on Saturday resulted:—Cambridge, holders (Lundon, Edgar. James, A. Pearce. S. James), 23, v. Ngaruav/aliin (Johnstone, Blcwden, Rowe, It. MeFarlane), 8. GAMES AT OPOTIKI [FROM OUR OWN correspondent] OPOTIKI, Monday Competitions played on the Opotiki Citizens' Club rinks on Saturday resulted as follows:—Championship singles: Fov. K,. v. Woh'enden, 15; Fisher, 18, v. Foy, 13. Handicap singles: O'Sullivan, 21, v. Frew, 19; Wolfenden. 26, v. Borrie, 13.
