AUCKLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS DECLARATION OF HANDICAPS Tlio Auckland senior swimming championships will be decided in tho Tepid Baths this evening. Lately, the cify's leading swimmers have been showing brilliant form and this has heightened interest in this evening's carnival. In the 100 yds and 220 yds men's championships I?. Thomas and I?. Frankham are regarded as tho chief contenders, and they are likely to stage a most exciting race, perhaps in New Zealand record time. Miss Marie Farquhav is expected to retain the 100 yds ladies' title in time faster than Miss Ena Stockley'a record. Exceptionally fast times should also be registered in the remaining championship events. The water polo match will be between the two champion teams, Ponsonby A and Waitemata A. CARNIVAL AT TE PUKE [BY TEU2CKAFH —OWN COIIKESI'ONDENT] TE PUKE, Monday Tho To Puke Swimming Club held a carnival on Saturday evening, when there was a good attendance. The programme hacl to be altered owing to tho late arrival of the visiting surf teams. A novelty wrestling match in the water was given by Messrs. Brown and Sidford, of the Takapuna surf team, and was greatly appreciated. Principal results were:— Girls' Handicap, under 17 years. 25yds.— J. Kyburn. 1; .M Haigh, 2.
