LITTLE SHOAL BAY

DAMAGED TIDAL GATE Tito proposed erection of nn additional wooden tidal gato at the entrance of the embankment across tho Little Shoal Bay reserve was unfavourably reported upon at a meeting of tho Northcote Council last evening by tho borough engineer, Mr. J. E. Ways. He suggested instead that a broken corner of the present concrete ga!o should be repaired. While tho tidal gate remained at its present level, the existing saturation level of the reserve could not be lowered sufficiently for turning the area into a good playing field. To develop tho area as a sports ground a new culvert and tidal gate 3ft. lower than tho present culvert would have to bo constructed.
