EXAMINATION MISPRINT

QUESTION OF TIME ALLOWED

ERROR QUICKLY NOTICED

A serious misprint at the top of the algebra paper presented to candidates for the university entrance examination yesterday morning was fortunately noted in time to prevent gravo misunderstanding.

Tho time allotted for all mathematics papers in this examination is two hours, and it is so stated in the time-table supplied to every candidate and also in tho calendar of tho University of New Zealand. Nevertheless, it was printed at tho top of the algebra papers that the time was three hours.

Tlie mistake was promptly noted and all candidates were warned before they started their work that they must disregard this statement, as the time to bo allowed them was two hours. A telegram drawing attention to the error was received from Wellington during the morning, so that presumably all examination centres throughout the Dominion were warned of the position.
